Your Journey. Your Legacy. Your Rusea's.
Starts Here.

EST. 1777 · LUCEA, JAMAICA

To become a Rusean is to become part of a story that began generations before you—and one that you now have the opportunity to help write.

For nearly 250 years, students have entered Rusea’s High School with different dreams, abilities and ambitions. Within these walls they have learned, competed, created, formed lifelong friendships, discovered their talents and prepared themselves to make their contribution to Jamaica and the world.

Now, it is your turn.

Your years at Rusea’s are about far more than examinations. They are an opportunity to discover what you are capable of becoming.

Challenge yourself in the classroom. Represent your school with pride on the field and stage. Join a club or society. Develop your talents. Take responsibility. Serve others. Build friendships. Ask questions. Make mistakes, learn from them and keep growing.

At Rusea’s, every student has the opportunity to contribute to the life of the school.

The generations before you have included educators, athletes, national leaders, professionals, artists, entrepreneurs and community builders. Their achievements form part of our proud history—but the Rusea’s legacy does not belong only to the past.

It belongs to you too.

As we celebrate 250 years of Rusea’s, remember that one day students will look back on this generation and the contribution you made.

Learn with purpose. Lead with character. Serve with pride.

And wherever your journey eventually takes you, carry with you the spirit, friendships and values formed during your years at Rusea’s.

You are not simply attending Rusea’s. You are becoming part of Rusea’s.

Your Rusea's Experience

There is more than one way to excel at Rusea’s.

Life at Rusea’s gives students opportunities to learn beyond the classroom, discover new interests, develop leadership skills and represent their school with pride.

Whether your strength is found in academics, sport, culture, creativity, leadership, service or another pursuit, your time here should be an opportunity to explore your potential and find your place within the Rusea’s community.

Donna Anderson

Donna Anderson continues to give dedicated service to Education and brings a wealth of experience, passion, and commitment to Leadership in excess of three decades.

Visionary Leadership is one of my greatest hallmarks, having served as Vice Principal and now Principal of this noble institution.

The exposure to training in Teacher Education as well as Supervision and Adminstration, solidifies the art of managing school operations and collaborating with our major stakeholders to promote school excellence.

Data driven Instructions, Reflections and Differentiated Teaching and Assessments are initiatives that have strengthened during the past five years.

My mission is to create a school culture that fosters a disciplined, safe and a nurturing learning environment, where students are given the opportunity to achieve excellence and staff continue to build their capacity.

Hence, my philosophy resonates: Every child deserves a chance to succeed with support from Parents, Educators and the Community.

I take pride in serving the students, staff and community and remain dedicated to our motto: Labor Omnia Vincit
